Use of Instagram for Marketing:

After completing the Music Video, Digi Pack and Website, I was thinking of the most effective was of getting the word out about our products, The main methods used by artists are via social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram, These methods are mostly free and reach millions of audiences around the world.

I decided to upload an image to Instagram of my Digi Pack to inform my class mates and local audiences of what our group have created. Within a few hours of uploading this I received many messages of how realistic the digi pack looked. People all around the world were asking for links to the music video and were impressed at the level of quality we had achieved.

After all this marketing, we had received a lot more Youtube Views, Blog views and received emails from many people congratulating us on our work. This was really amazing to see as it was all free and I was able to track the progress using my iPhone and Tablet.

As our music video was on Youtube, we were able to see how many views we had received, the number started at a few but within the hour grew to 32. This was all due to one image on Instagram.

Digi Pack - Preliminary Final + Audience Feedback

This is the final so far, however after a discussion with my group, we concluded to make major chanfges as this product didnt fit out genre or artist identity. I will refer to my research and planning and re make the digi pack with the appropriate changes.

After our first draft had been completed, we asked a sample of 10 participants to view their opinions about what they liked and what could be better.

The feedback was:

'The digi pack looks blurry and unprofessional'
' The last page looks very rushed and the editing is very poor'
' The CD looks a little plain and un finished'
' I like the shot types but the editing ruins it as it drags focus away from the artist'

After receiving this feedback I decided to make drastic changes and re construct majority of the pages. I will then ask the same sample to give their feedback on the updated version.

Audience Feedback of First Music Video Draft

After completing the first music video draft, we gained vital feedback from a sample of our target market, Much of the feedback was positive and the negative feedback we received was highly constructive; the main points to improve on were lighting and steadiness of the camera.

SnapChat Conversation with my group

While I was designing the Digi-Pack I wanted some feedback to see if I was going in the right direction. I utilised an application called 'Snapchat' which allows me to send an image in real time
to anyone with the app. I sent images of my Digipack while I was creating it and made changed where necessary.

After snap chatting my work so far, I received constructive feedback and decided to act upon this and improve my digi pack. I will then re snap the process and gain feedback as I progress.

Snapchat was very useful in gaining feedback, it was surprising to see that a social tool can be used in  a constructive and efficient way as all I needed was my phone and internet; this allowed me to send an image to anyone who was on my contact list for free and within a few seconds no matter where in the world they live.

Editing of Main Product + Digipack/Website

As our group met 3 times a week in our media lessons, we had a set time to get certain tasks completed such as gaining audience feedback, filming or editing. This allowed us to collaborate our ideas and gain creative criticism from our media teachers.

We had split the work into equal amounts with Ryco undertaking majority of filming, Elijahn creating the website and myself producing the Digi pack, Photoshoot images and Filming certain scenes.

This allowed us to ensure a level of consistency between our media products so the target audience can see our products and immediately understand the digi pack, website and music video are part of the same artist - this creates a brand identity.
